About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager to join our team at Qualex-Landmark™. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of multiple land development projects, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with general contractors, consultants, stakeholders, partners, and government officials to ensure effective project communication and coordination.
  • Project Visioning and Planning: Lead project visioning, programming, design specification, and inspiration to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Market and Municipal Research: Conduct market and municipal research, and report on key findings to inform project decisions.
  • Financial Analysis: Update or prepare pro forma inputs, project budgets, and financial analysis to ensure accurate project forecasting.
  • Grant and Financing Applications: Assist or lead the preparation of financing and grant applications to secure necessary funding for projects.
  • Site Acquisition: Prepare offers and undertake due diligence for potential development sites to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee drawing and specification review, coordination, and record keeping to ensure project compliance and efficiency.
  • Municipal Permitting: Manage municipal permit submission and approvals to ensure timely project progression.
  • Project Scheduling: Prepare and update project schedules to ensure effective project planning and execution.
  • Marketing and Presentation: Assist in the creation of project marketing material and presentation centers to showcase project value and appeal.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments and consultants to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Brand Representation: Act as the company's representative, protecting the company brand and ensuring project success.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4-5+ years of experience in development, with a focus on land development and project management.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in urban planning, architecture, construction, land economics, finance, engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of construction drawings and documentation, understanding of development processes and best practices, and ability to visit sites within the BC Lower Mainland as projects require.
