Job Title: Health Information Processing Clerk

About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with the Interior Health Authority. As a Health Information Processing Clerk, you will be responsible for performing clerical duties related to the preparation, maintenance, and storage of patient information in paper and electronic form. You will also provide secretarial support to managers and physicians, and perform quantitative analysis to ensure accuracy of patient records.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure accuracy of patient records
* Monitor and maintain an electronic tracking system for deficient patient charts
* Type technical and non-technical material for managers and physicians
* Retrieve, organize, and file patient records, reports, and other documents
* Answer inquiries regarding patient information in accordance with legislative statutes, IHA, and established policies, procedures, and guidelines for Release of Information
* Data entry functions for clinical registries and/or databases
* Assist physicians in completing patient documentation by performing quantitative analysis
* Reception duties, including answering telephone, transferring calls, taking messages, and answering routine enquiries

Requirements:

* A current 5-minute typing test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
* Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course
* Two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* A cover letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work
