Surveying Technician

Position Overview

As a Surveying Technician at EX-MAX Contracting, you will play a crucial role in supporting our surveying operations. Your expertise will contribute to the accurate measurement and analysis of land and geographic features.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of College or CEGEP education in a relevant field.
Work Environment

This position primarily involves outdoor work, requiring a commitment to safety and environmental awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys.
  • Support the preparation of detailed drawings, charts, and plans.
  • Collaborate with survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop effective methods and procedures for conducting field surveys.
  • Conduct field surveys and operate various survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.
  • Utilize global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to determine precise geographic locations.
  • Prepare comprehensive drawings, charts, plans, and survey notes and reports.
  • Record measurements and other relevant information obtained during field survey activities.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD software.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependable and organized.
  • Reliable team player with good interpersonal skills.
Experience Requirements

Candidates should have between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in English is required for this role.
