Meat Department Team Lead

This is a leadership role that requires a quality-driven individual who is passionate about developing people and driving business results. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of meat department employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of product quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop a team of meat department employees to achieve business objectives
- Ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience
- Maintain a high level of product quality and presentation
- Manage inventory, labor, and expenses to achieve budgeted goals
- Collaborate with purchasing department to ensure specifications and pricing from approved suppliers are followed
- Ensure equipment maintenance and safe workplace practices are in place and followed
- Perform other duties as delegated by store leaders
- Execute great results to every customer to build rapport and trust
- Address and follow up on all customer requests and questions
- Maintain food safety standards and all company procedures to ensure food safety
- Ensure accurate retail pricing and signage
- Follow tasters program daily
- Process special orders and documentation, shared with team leader
- Inform customers of new products introduced
- Ensure back areas and coolers are well maintained, organized, and dated
- Assist in monthly inventory
- Aware of current sales, margins, and action plan from team leaders
- Proper receiving as per company guidelines followed
- Recipes for marinated items followed for approved ingredients
- Demonstrate proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment
- Packaging, wrapping, and rotation followed
- Assist in cross merchandise with other departments
- Execute all cleaning and maintenance schedules
- Attend all department, store, and training meetings
- Accept and check all products from receiver
- Answer telephone with proper etiquette and urgency
- Wash and sanitize utensils when necessary
- Break, trim, bone, cut, scrape, and platter various cuts of meat and seafood
- Skewer meat, poultry items for kabobs
- Grind meats with temperature tracking
