Job Title: Senior Software Test Developer

This is a fully in-office position located in Calgary, AB, where you will be a key member of our core software team responsible for complex components and their integration across our embedded product offerings.

The successful candidate will quickly assume a test leadership position while working closely with all stakeholders from designers, developers, and product management to hardware and support teams. You will work with the test and development teams on the choices of tools and technologies to enhance testing and test automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine test requirements
  • Work with program management to translate requirements into testable designs
  • Provide leadership in agile scrum and planning processes
  • Design and execute stress, performance, scalability, and other non-functional tests
  • Explore individual components or features; find and report defects
  • Communicate and summarize status to stakeholders
  • Provide thought leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the testing team and ensure best-proven test practices are observed across the team
  • Work with other test leaders to innovate and improve how the team performs
Requirements:
  • Dedication to software testing as a craft
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in software testing
  • Some experience as a test lead or prime on a major product
  • Demonstrated experience with at least some of the following technologies:
    • Scripting languages (particularly Python)
    • Testing tools such as Appium, Robotframework, or visual/UI testing tools
    • General automation, tool, and development skills
    • Experience with Android and Linux platforms
    • Continuous integration systems such as TeamCity
    • Experience with UI and usability testing
    • Experience with Google Android EDLA certification
