About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at the Wooden Nickel Saloon. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and sanitized at all times.
    • Load and unload dishwashers, and wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, walls, and equipment.
  • Food Preparation
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, such as soups, salads, and sandwiches.
    • Portion and wrap foods for service.
    • Package take-out food for customers.
  • Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Handle and store cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Garbage and Recycling
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure recycling bins are emptied regularly.
  • Maintenance and Organization
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
    • Organize kitchen storage areas and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset.
  • Work Conditions
    • Physically demanding work environment.
    • Repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
    • Work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Reliable and dependable individual.
