Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
  • Customer Service: Provide passengers with information on fares, schedules, and stops, and collect fares and record transactions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Communication: Communicate with passengers, dispatchers, and other drivers using two-way radio systems.
  • Safety: Ensure children's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing streets while the bus is stopped, and maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviors that could compromise safety.
Requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles, and buses with fewer than 24 passengers)
  • Valid Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence is required.
