We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor. This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing maintenance operations within our bakery. Key responsibilities include reviewing and executing work orders, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and providing troubleshooting assistance during unscheduled line downtimes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interdepartmental communication skills, lead on-site contractors effectively, and drive continuous improvements in production methodologies and equipment performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage work orders and notifications, collaborating with planners to meet deadlines.
  • Generate and print SAP work orders and purchase order requests.
  • Organize and prioritize preventive maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations in the execution of work.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for unexpected line shutdowns.
  • Oversee and direct the activities of on-site contractors as needed.
  • Maintain open lines of communication across departments.
  • Participate in morning production meetings and other relevant gatherings.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on quality-related issues to uphold food safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Aspire Bakeries' safety policies and practices to maintain employee safety.
  • Develop strategies to motivate team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Guarantee reliable weekly startups across all production areas.
  • Estimate labor hour requirements for job completion.
  • Recommend enhancements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Serve as a member of the Food Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and predict equipment failures, implementing proactive improvement strategies based on data analysis.
  • Lead the team in troubleshooting breakdowns, analyzing downtime reports, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and provide training documentation.
  • Foster a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Millwright or Electrician license valid in Ontario, or hold an Engineering degree/diploma.
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Certification as a Class B refrigeration operator is a plus.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of leading others.
  • Demonstrated trades experience in technical problem-solving and decision-making is necessary.
  • Willingness to pursue additional certifications/licenses is expected.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with shifting priorities is crucial.
  • Familiarity with government regulations pertaining to OHSA is required.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is preferred.
