Position Overview:
The Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto is seeking exceptional scholars for a full-time tenure stream role in the field of Business Law. This position is intended for individuals at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Research Focus:
We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise aligns with the Faculty's research and teaching areas. Specializations may include, but are not limited to, Banking Law & Regulation, Bankruptcy & Insolvency Law, Commercial Law, and Secured Transactions. We welcome diverse and interdisciplinary perspectives in legal scholarship.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a J.D. or an equivalent qualification, with a preference for those holding a doctoral degree. A proven track record of excellence in both research and teaching is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in innovative and independent research at an international level and to develop a robust, externally funded research program.
Evidence of Excellence:
Candidates should provide clear evidence of their research achievements, which may include:
- Publications in top-tier, internationally recognized journals
- Presentations at significant academic conferences
- Award recognitions and other notable contributions to the field
- Strong recommendations from reputable referees
Excellence in teaching should be demonstrated through a solid record of teaching effectiveness, teaching accomplishments, and a comprehensive teaching dossier that includes a teaching statement, sample course materials, and evaluations.
Salary and Rank:
Compensation and rank will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
