Island Health is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Medical Director to lead the Cowichan Primary Care Network. This role reports to the Executive Medical Director, Cowichan Valley.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-lead and oversee activities to ensure efficient, effective, and integrated program service delivery across Island Health sites.
- Establish processes and structures to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement of service delivery.
- Monitor program budget and performance, making course corrections as necessary.
- Ensure investigation and resolution of program-related Patient Safety Learning System and Patient Care Quality Office events.
- Co-develop and implement change management plans to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
- Oversee activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using the Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Assess, monitor, and anticipate program resource needs, working with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
- Collaborative leadership style with experience in co-leadership models.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
