Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to contribute to the design and evaluation of system enhancements and upgrades. This role involves participating in various engineering phases, from initial conceptual designs to detailed engineering support. The engineer will be responsible for selecting and designing project systems, as well as providing estimates for future engineering phases. Additionally, procurement engineering assistance will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting in the development of design methodologies and plans;
  2. Conducting design reviews and verifications on technical documentation prepared by colleagues;
  3. Offering technical expertise and applying robust engineering principles to address technical challenges;
  4. Maintaining the quality, consistency, accuracy, and completeness of engineering outputs;
  5. Ensuring timely delivery of all engineering tasks within established timelines and budgets;
  6. Creating and designing both preliminary and detailed engineering packages for Instrumentation and Controls;
  7. Overseeing the preparation of engineering deliverables related to Instrumentation and Control, including instrument indexes, installation specifications, location schematics, function block logic diagrams, control descriptions, datasheets, calibration documents, P&IDs, material requisitions, technical evaluations, alternative assessments, equipment selection, calculations, and bill of materials.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Instrumentation & Controls: Experience in process implementation
  • Project Background: Familiarity with nuclear, oil and gas, power generation, or other EPC sectors
  • Design Expertise: Proficiency in data sheets, control narratives, logic diagrams, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument indexes

Work Environment:

Location: Hybrid model with a combination of remote and on-site work.

Work Hours: Full-time position with a standard 40-hour work week, including core hours where availability is required. Flexible working hours are offered outside of core times.
