Job Title: Platform Team Lead - Structural

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Platform Team Lead - Structural to join our team in Regina, SK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and approval of Structural Engineering works, as well as preparing reports, estimates, and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and approve Structural Engineering works for new buildings and renovation projects
  • Lead the Structural design team through projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Review and investigate preliminary Engineering options during the planning and schematic design process
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants as required
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender contract documents, and Engineering reports
  • Develop conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications
  • Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports
  • Review, evaluate, and improve upon Engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications
  • Perform Structural design calculations as required
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings for Structural systems, including layouts and construction details
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and contractors
  • Complete site inspections during the construction phase, coordinate and follow-up on project issues
  • Perform contract administration duties, including attending meetings, travel as required, submittal reviews, supplemental instructions, price requests, site inspection reports, meeting minutes, and other project aspects
  • Collaborate with internal building design departments to ensure project success
  • Project cost monitoring and schedule control as requested
  • Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), Structural Codes, and industry practice and regulations/applicable Codes having jurisdiction
  • Proficiency with Tekla, Staad Pro, AutoDesk AutoCAD software is required. Proficiency with AutoDesk Revit software is considered an asset
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • LEED AP Certification would be an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a drive to succeed in a positive environment
Requirements:
  • 8+ years' experience in a consulting office preferred
  • Must have a Structural Engineering degree
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (or other Provinces)
  • Candidates will be required to work on multiple projects and collaborate with a team of Architects, Engineers, and Technologists
