Opportunity Overview

Aecon, a market leader with a self-perform competitive advantage and core local strength in key markets, is seeking a Traffic Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will design and coordinate traffic requirements during construction, minimizing the impact on traffic operations and temporary designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate traffic requirements during construction, ensuring minimal impact on traffic operations and temporary designs.
  • Develop and implement traffic and transit management plans, including coordination with stakeholders and government authorities.
  • Assist in the design and engineering of temporary works for transit departments.
  • Liaise with urban leadership, ministries, and construction staff as needed.
  • Create traffic solutions based on project requirements.
  • Work closely with supervisors to monitor traffic and transit operations and resolve issues.
  • Recommend changes to signal phasing and timing, pavement markings, and signage as needed.
  • Ensure plans are in place for transitioning to the next phase, including detours, signage, pavement markings, signals, and PVMS installations.
  • Prepare traffic control plans using Rapid Plan Software and CADD.
  • Participate in the preparation of Traffic and Transit Management Plans (TTMP).

Requirements

  • Minimum of CET or Engineering in Training (EIT) designation or equivalent working experience.
  • P. Eng is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of traffic experience, with at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid class G driver license required.
  • Knowledge of OTM Book 7 is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Rapid Plan Software and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Bentley MicroStation knowledge is desirable.
  • Logical approach to trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Excellent time and Project Management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
