Job Title: Junior Android Engineer

About the Role

  1. Contribute to the development of a Trader design system, a component library built on the latest technologies such as Jetpack Compose, to enable teams at Trader to work faster and at a higher quality bar.
  2. Drive new features from end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.
  3. Craft a modern user experience for browsing and selling vehicles via the Trader apps.
  4. Build the technical foundation for future features and experiences.

Requirements

  1. Expertise with Kotlin with 1 or more years of experience with Android development.
  2. A deep understanding of modern architectural and modular design patterns like MVVM.
  3. Embracing the challenges of building data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps in the constrained environment of a mobile device.
  4. Strong communication skills to facilitate discussion with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  5. An inquisitive mind who is not afraid to make their voice heard.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver a high-quality mobile-first experience through architecture reviews and other team-based planning processes.
  2. Partner across product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions to complex challenges.
  3. Champion code quality and stability by driving pull request feedback sessions, test creation, and continuous integration advancements.
  4. Constantly improve upon your technical and non-technical skillset and help the team to do the same.
