Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified educator to join our team as an International & Indigenous Languages Educator. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and leading classes in various languages, including Italian, Mandarin, Russian, American Sign Language, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, Igbo, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Yoruba.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and lead classes in various languages
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement language programs
  • Provide support to students with diverse learning needs
Requirements
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Teachers and hold a Certificate of Qualification (or equivalent) in the Intermediate/Senior divisions
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of and fluency in the language (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing)
  • Comfortable teaching online
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children and/or youth
  • Good computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Office) and knowledge of online Learning and/or Meeting tools
  • Previous teaching experience of American Sign Language with Hearing, Deaf, and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
Compensation

$49.24 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
