We are seeking a highly skilled Master Woodworker to join our team at Skona Design Inc.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and woodworking, with a focus on finish carpentry. They will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
- Instructing apprentices.
- Supervising other workers.
- Estimating costs and materials.
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 5 years or more of experience in carpentry and woodworking.
- Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.
- Ability to work in various locations, including construction sites.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Commercial, industrial, and residential work experience.
- Maintenance and repair expertise.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Steel-toed safety boots.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. They will be required to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. They will also be required to bend, crouch, and kneel.
