Job Summary

MRC Global is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Associate to support our branch operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative services to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality service to our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering phone calls, and referring inquiries to the appropriate person.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting safety awareness and participating in safety initiatives.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including preparing and sending correspondence.
  • Distribute and log special items to corporate departments, branch personnel, vendors, and customers as required.
  • Coordinate calendars and itineraries for branch personnel, arrange meetings and travel, and ensure office supplies and equipment are operational.
  • Perform data entry using MRC Global's specific software for customer order processing, purchasing, receiving, inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Verify accuracy of purchases with vendors, including shipping, billing, and customer support.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with business process standards.
  • Learn new business processes and office procedures as required and serve as a resource to others.
  • Establish rapport and provide prompt responses to internal and external customer requests using written correspondence, phone etiquette, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain confidential information pertaining to supervisory duties, personnel issues, and customer issues.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn MRC Global business processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MRC Global products to serve the branch customer base.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and discretion.
  • Aptitude with learning new technology.
  • Maintain a good company image while establishing strong business relationships internally and externally.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations.
