We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at Feedback Construction Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry.
Key Responsibilities- Estimation and Planning: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for various construction projects.
- Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate site preparation.
- Carpentry Work: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to create high-quality structures.
- Project Management: Prepare tenders and quotations, supervise other workers, and estimate costs and materials for ongoing projects.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
- Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders through efficient communication and teamwork.
- Written Communication: Produce clear, concise, and well-structured reports, proposals, and other written materials.
- Judgement and Decision-Making: Make informed decisions and take calculated risks to ensure project success and team safety.
- Reliability and Punctuality: Demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and participating in team activities.
- Education: Possess a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry.
- Experience: Have at least 1 year of experience in carpentry, with a strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
- Physical Accessibility: Provide accommodations to ensure physical accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomer and refugee employment.
- Support for Indigenous People: Participate in initiatives that support Indigenous people's employment and economic development.
- Work Schedule: Work 40 hours per week, with a regular schedule and occasional overtime as required.
- Language of Work: English.
