About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Yellowknife Veterinary Clinic and Boutique. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals in a professional and ethical manner.
- Assist veterinarians with animal dentistry, handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
- Collect samples such as urine, feces, blood, or any other bodily fluids for examination and analysis.
- Perform laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing, including urinalysis, hematology, and parasitology.
- Operate radiographic equipment and produce diagnostic radiographs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care and treatment.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic security clearance, criminal record check, child abuse registry check, and driver's validity license check.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
The Yellowknife Veterinary Clinic and Boutique is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. We offer a competitive compensation package, including extended health care, vision care, dental care, store discount, and housing compensation. Weekend availability is required, and shifts will be arranged with management.
