Join Our Team as a Mechanic

First Student Shared Services is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in Thunder Bay, ON. As a Mechanic with our company, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.

About the Role

  • Diagnose and perform accurate repairs on various vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
  • Lead preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure our fleet is in top condition.
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and resolve mechanical issues, and provide guidance to Apprentice Mechanics.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed properly and accurately, and maintain records of maintenance work completed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

Requirements

  • Valid 310T Mechanic license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
