Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute mechanical engineering activities to meet contractual scope, codes, standards, and company/client procedures
  • Perform calculations and develop material takeoffs and cost estimates

  • Support the business development of Kleinfelder and liaise any possible opportunities
  • Assist in creating work document packages during closeout of projects
  • Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized university with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering designation with APEGA is a must
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering field; EP/EPC experience is very desirable
  • Recent experience in executing multi-projects and multi-disciplined small- to medium-sized projects
  • Expertise in piping design and material selection in accordance to oil and gas projects in Western Canada
  • High level of knowledge in the use of oil and gas industry codes and standards, including but not limited to CSA, ASME, and API
  • Experience in pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II, including NozzlePRO and FE/Pipe or other FEA software is considered an asset
  • Experience with vessel and heat exchanger design to ASME and TEMA standards. Experience with COMPRESS, PVElite, or similar software is considered an asset
  • Experience with various rotating equipment, such as compressors, gas/steam turbines, pumps, compressor and pump seals, as well as special-purpose rotating equipment auxiliary systems would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of CAD design software (for viewing files) would be an asset
  • High level of knowledge for the use of appropriate construction methods
  • Previous site/field-level experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and PDF editor programs used to create reports and documents
  • US PE is an asset
