Position Overview
We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily activities within a dynamic, unionized distribution center environment. This role is a full-time contract position that plays a critical part in ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage shift operations within a bustling distribution center.
- Facilitate training for new and existing staff while overseeing performance management.
- Ensure that customer service objectives are consistently achieved.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, operational efficiency, and budgetary goals.
- Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Oversee inventory management, fleet operations, and quality control, ensuring adherence to SOX and audit requirements.
- Availability to work across various shifts in a 24-hour operational environment is essential.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in operations; familiarity with SAP is advantageous; experience in a unionized setting is a strong plus; a valid 'G' class license is required.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven leadership capabilities; proficient in MS Office Suite; sound decision-making skills; knowledge of health and safety regulations is beneficial.
