We are seeking a skilled Truck and Transport Technician to join our team at Brandt's Lloydminster Peterbilt location. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, and buses in a shop environment.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of on-road equipment, and perform repairs and maintenance efficiently and effectively.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely, and operate related instruments, hand/power tools, and computer systems.
- Accurately document all unit information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders.
- Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
- Collaborate with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements.
- Road test equipment and verify repairs as required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Proven computer and technical aptitude, with experience in diagnostics and calibration work.
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
- Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with an appreciation for customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Transport technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
- Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems.
