Geotechnical Project Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team at Pinchin. As a Geotechnical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical engineering projects, including soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering, and shoring.
  • Schedule assessments and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Assign work to field staff as appropriate, depending on workloads and in conjunction with other Senior Managers.
  • Prepare contract documents, proposals, and reports.
  • Provide clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines.
  • Meet with clients to determine project requirements.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts to new and existing clients.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role.
  • Professional Engineering Designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • Ability to work closely with project teams across the company, providing geotechnical support as needed.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present information to staff, clients, and managers.
  • Proven technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clients.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (work-related travel expenses will be compensated).
