Role Overview
The Transportation Association of Canada is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Economic Development team as a Demonstration Zone Operations Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions of mobility demonstration zones, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents while fostering economic growth.
The Demonstration Zone Operations Manager will engage extensively with community stakeholders and manage various demonstration projects, ensuring effective collaboration and communication among all parties involved.
This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, allowing for a balanced approach to work and personal commitments.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the daily operations of the mobility demonstration zones.
• Develop strategic innovation challenges for application calls.
• Facilitate the application process, including reviews and selections, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project timelines and deliverables, addressing any risks or challenges that may arise.
• Coordinate logistics for demonstration projects, ensuring clear communication among all stakeholders.
• Create and distribute communication materials for marketing initiatives and the application process.
• Promote the demonstration zones to businesses, stakeholders, and the public.
• Provide logistical support for events and activities organized by the economic development team.
• Ensure thorough documentation and reporting for all demonstration zone activities.
Qualifications and Experience
• A university degree in business administration or a related field.
• At least three years of project management experience, preferably in a municipal or economic development context.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in planning and executing community engagement events.
• Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Familiarity with governmental structures and transportation regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work outside regular business hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of advanced automotive technologies and smart mobility solutions.
• Familiarity with transportation planning and intelligent transportation systems.
