Senior Naval Architect

Duke is seeking a highly skilled Senior Naval Architect to join our team in British Columbia. As a leading provider in the marine industry, we offer a unique opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to the planning and execution of technical activities on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to deliver technical activities on various projects related to vessel and technical product development.
- Lead and mentor intermediate and junior-level staff in all aspects of Naval Architecture.
- Oversee projects as a project manager, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
- Perform design, documentation, analysis, and modeling tasks using industry-standard software packages.
- Review design documents to achieve customer, Classification Society, and regulatory approval.
- Conduct onsite vessel surveys, including vertical ladder ascent and descent, accessing confined spaces, and heights.
- Degree in Naval Architecture.
- Registered or eligible for P.Eng.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in a design office or shipyard with project management skills in refit and new vessel projects.
- Experience with hydrostatics, resistance, and propulsion calculations using software packages such as GHS, ORCA 3D, SHCP, or NavCad is highly desirable.
- Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to produce and present clear, detailed written technical specifications, procedures, and reports.
- Expert knowledge of GHS, working knowledge of Ship Constructor, Rhino, and ACAD software, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Availability and willingness to travel.
