Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Long Term Care

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Southbridge Owen Sound. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional resident care while following established protocols and maintaining physicians' orders.
  • Observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents, and initiate remedial health measures as needed.
  • Organize and direct functions and activities related to the provision of care to residents.
  • Assist in the management of the work of nursing and personal care staff.
  • Train and develop new staff, referring concerns to the Director of Care.
Requirements:
  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Registration/eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
  • Previous similar experience in long-term care an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks in order of urgency.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the 'big picture'.
