Position Overview
We are in search of a qualified Senior Project Cost Engineer / Specialist to contribute to our projects, ideally based in one of our major offices.
This role involves site travel as required, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and cost-effectively.
The Project Cost Specialist plays a crucial role in managing project expenditures, ensuring that projects are executed within budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct performance monitoring and control functions in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain cost budgets and accurate forecasts, utilizing a change management system to monitor project status.
- Perform ongoing cost data analysis and cash flow assessments.
- Support the project code of accounts and recommend necessary modifications.
- Monitor field contractor progress and assist in preparing cost data for proposals and negotiations.
- Coordinate the project cost change management system and maintain the job hour control system.
- Assist with financial reporting as per company and client requirements.
- Evaluate study results and provide recommendations for project teams.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications
A degree in Engineering or Business, or relevant qualifications in Planning/Scheduling, Project Controls, or Project Management is required.
Experience in a Project Controls-related field with progressive responsibilities is essential.
Familiarity with engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes is advantageous, along with strong knowledge of project controls software.
