About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Sumas Construction and Excavating Ltd. as a Heavy Equipment Specialist. This is a permanent position with a variable schedule of 20 to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, compactors, rollers, and bobcats in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform excavation, backfilling, ditching, fine grading and finishing, land clearing, rough grading, sloping and banking, and sub-grade excavating tasks.
  • Work in various locations, including outdoors and dusty environments.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
