Project Overview:
Bechtel, in collaboration with its partners, has been designated as the Delivery Partner for a significant metro line project in Toronto, aimed at enhancing public transportation connectivity and capacity. This project encompasses the comprehensive design, construction, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure and rail systems across multiple stations and extensive track lengths.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager for Power and Rolling Stock will oversee the technical and managerial aspects related to the design and execution of power systems for the project. This role ensures that all contract specifications are fulfilled by the contractor, while also validating the technical safety cases necessary for project compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance of all power-related activities with project specifications and contractual obligations.
- Implement a robust safety management framework throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with power systems during all phases of the project.
- Participate in safety and risk assessment sessions, providing expert input as necessary.
- Oversee the contractor's adherence to requirements management and safety assurance processes.
- Facilitate project-wide integration activities related to power systems.
- Contribute to the project risk register and engage in regular reviews.
- Provide expertise on power systems to support project objectives.
- Assist in the review of system assurance documentation related to power systems.
- Evaluate contractor submissions concerning power system designs and implementations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) with extensive relevant experience.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in the design and construction of power systems within large-scale rail projects.
- In-depth knowledge of traction power systems and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with safety standards and civil engineering codes.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
