About the Role

VIA Rail is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating complex projects from conception to implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct design reviews, compliance reviews, site reviews, and quality audits to ensure projects meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and manage the resolution of deficiencies, and facilitate the final handover process to project stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor all worksite activities for compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Investigate and manage incidents, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Determine and closely monitor project scope, budget, deadlines, dependencies, risks, and problems.
  • Schedule and coordinate project activities, and ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, and attend follow-up meetings.
  • Plan, organize, execute, and evaluate capital project delivery, ensuring compliance with established standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in a field related to the position, such as building sciences, engineering, or business administration.
  • Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience in rail transit infrastructure or rail facility infrastructure.
  • Ability to travel across Canada and work interprovincially.
  • Independence and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record as a self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in French a valuable asset.
