Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Distribution Center Development to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, purchasing, installation, and launch of new state-of-the-art distribution centers for MCD McKesson Canada Corporation / La Corporation McKesson Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our distribution network and contribute to the company's mission to improve lives and advance healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish space, manpower, automation, and mobile equipment requirements for new distribution centers
  • Design automation systems in partnership with strategic suppliers (e.g. KNAPP)
  • Assist in RFP process and supplier selection
  • Supervise infrastructure, automation, and equipment installation in coordination with various subject matter experts (IT infrastructure, software, hardware, regulatory, Health & Safety, building, security)
  • Create new processes in collaboration with operations, procurement, and transportation teams
  • Configure and test the automation in a real-life operations environment: mechanical, software, process, materials, and workers
  • Simulate the material flow using specialized software (FlexSim) to confirm process and workflow capacities
  • Produce training materials and provide training to end-users
  • Support go-live and monitor key performance indicators to confirm the business case
  • Rely on data analytics to support key deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in a large organization
  • Experience as a logistics or supply chain consultant an asset
  • Ability to work in an innovative, dynamic, and changing environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Results-oriented
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English and French
  • Familiar with simulation models
  • Knowledge of WMS Warehouse Management System, WCS Warehouse Control System, ELMS Eng. Labour Management System
  • Team player who enjoys collaborative work
  • Experience in distribution centers
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, AutoCAD, SmartSheet, FlexSim
