ArcelorMittal Mining Canada is seeking a Supervisor for Spiral Concentration Operations. This pivotal role involves the planning, organization, direction, and oversight of activities within the designated sector, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and the core values of the company. The successful candidate will foster teamwork and collaboration, closely managing both human and material resources while diligently tracking progress to achieve project deadlines, budgetary constraints, and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance operations, guaranteeing that all tasks are executed in line with the highest safety protocols.
  • Facilitate regular safety briefings to evaluate risks, exchange best practices, and cultivate a proactive safety culture.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to formulate and implement targeted strategies aimed at enhancing working conditions and preventing incidents.
  • Manage incidents proactively, conducting root cause analyses and applying corrective actions as necessary.
  • Deliver ongoing safety training for personnel, ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with emergency protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and mitigate risks, implementing preventive measures accordingly.
  • Support employee wellness initiatives that promote both physical and mental health.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
  • Effectively coordinate human and material resources to meet project timelines and budgetary requirements.
  • Engage in the development and refinement of maintenance processes to boost efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

  • A college diploma, such as a DEC in chemistry, mineral processing, or metallurgy, or a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification as a CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) is a notable advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, with significant experience in supervising personnel.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship, demonstrated through tangible achievements.
  • Ability to inspire confidence, communicate effectively, and build robust interpersonal relationships that emphasize teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proven capability to plan, organize, and achieve results by guiding and empowering the team.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, demonstrated independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to navigate change and ambiguous situations with integrity and influence.
  • Proficient in IT tools, including specialized maintenance or project management software.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
