Residue Park Operations Lead

ArcelorMittal Mining Operations is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our Residue Park department. Reporting directly to the Director - Crusher and Concentrator, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our mining processes.

  • Operational Excellence: You will be responsible for overseeing all daily activities within the Residue Park, guaranteeing adherence to established ArcelorMittal Mines Canada policies and procedures.
  • Safety First: A key focus will be maintaining a safe working environment by actively managing risk assessments and implementing proactive measures to minimize potential hazards for our team.
  • Performance & Productivity: You will set clear daily objectives and targets, motivating your team to achieve operational and financial goals. Your expertise in heavy industry processes will be instrumental in driving efficiency and productivity within the department.
  • Team Development & Collaboration: You will foster a culture of continuous learning and development within your team, identifying skill gaps and providing opportunities for growth. You will also collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operations across the mining site.
  • Technical Expertise: Your strong understanding of electrical equipment, heavy industrial automation, and relevant software tools (such as IVARA maintenance management software, MS Office, SAP) will be essential in resolving technical challenges and optimizing processes.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is required. A combination of professional experience and relevant training may also be considered.
  • Membership in good standing with the Quebec Order of Engineers (asset).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy industry, with a proven track record in managing complex operations.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and good proficiency in English.
