Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. As a key member of our General Surgery Program, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients' recovery and independence.

About the Role

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing high-quality nursing care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Provide high-quality nursing care, including administering medications and performing procedures
  • Document patient information and update care plans as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences
  • Contribute to a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care
