Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Support Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of our highway infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the administration of highway maintenance contracts, including monitoring roadway development and ensuring the safety of the motoring public.
  • Collect and analyze highway appurtenance inventory data to inform asset management decisions.
  • Support development control staff in the district, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Manage smaller district contracts, service agreements, and consultant agreements, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to complex maintenance problems, leveraging your technical expertise and knowledge of industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in highway maintenance and asset management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
