Blue Sky Family Care Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to young individuals in a group home setting.
Qualifications- Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
The position is based in a group home environment, where you will engage with clients on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities- Assess clients' needs and determine eligibility for various services.
- Design, coordinate, and execute the delivery of community-based services.
- Provide intervention during crises and assist in suicide prevention.
- Manage and resolve conflicts among clients.
- Oversee the daily activities of clients residing in group homes and transitional housing.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with other social service agencies and healthcare providers involved in client care.
- Support clients with special needs and accompany them to appointments and social events.
- First Aid Certification is mandatory.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- Child Abuse Registry and Child Welfare checks are required.
- Fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work under pressure is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound judgment and client-focused approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative team spirit are vital.
- This is a permanent position.
- Work hours range from 30 to 40 hours per week.
- English is the primary language of work.
