About the RoleWe are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team, reporting to the Director of Logistics & Shipping. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for organizing shipping records, maintaining inventory, packaging product samples, and verifying carrier details.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Documentation and Verification: Prepare shipment documents, including packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading. Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Scheduling and Transportation: Schedule transportation requirements, including shipment notification, tracking, and proof of delivery. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Inventory and Imports: Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Maintain a database of all imports and publish ETA status. Negotiate pricing with forwarders, brokers, and trucking companies.
- Support: Troubleshoot logistics issues, review all carrier selection and performance with the Director, and assist with reporting of performance measurements (volumes, costs, and accuracy).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and CITT certification (Canadian Institute of Transportation & Traffic) or P. Log designation (Professional Logistics).
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, arranging domestic and international shipments. Strong understanding of LTL, T/L, and courier distributions, as well as customs claims and NAFTA.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to responsively prioritize tasks based on demand. Solution-oriented, proactive, and able to effectively present information directly to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.
- High proficiency with MS Excel and ability to adapt to various shipping systems software.
