Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing all production activities on the assigned shift. This includes monitoring production processes, investigating unusual problems, and determining solutions to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control production activities on the assigned shift
- Investigate and resolve unusual production problems
- Manage employee-related issues for the dedicated shift
- Report directly to the Production Manager
- Collaborate with production, logistics, shipping, and receiving teams
- Make recommendations for hiring, firing, disciplining, and remuneration of staff
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Report any unsafe working conditions or work-related injuries to the Manager
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and lead multi-departmental teams to enhance performance
- Communicate area performance and improvement activities to upper management
Requirements:
- Post-secondary technical program or mechanical engineer degree
- Further training in management/leadership skills
- Knowledge of tooling, production scheduling, occupational health and safety, quality standards, and lean manufacturing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- At least three years of experience in a supervisory role in a similar production environment
Working Conditions:
The Production Supervisor will work in a fast-paced production environment, requiring strong organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with production staff and management.
