Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient dental environment.
  • Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure a smooth and efficient dental practice.
  • Perform reception and clerical duties to provide exceptional patient care and support.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene and provide personalized advice to promote good oral health.
  • Finish metal framework of dentures and polish teeth and clinical crowns to ensure a high level of quality.
  • Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays to create accurate and precise dental impressions.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure a smooth and efficient dental practice.
  • Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures to create high-quality dental prosthetics.
  • Perform intra-oral duties to provide exceptional patient care and support.
  • Take and develop X-rays to diagnose and treat dental issues.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Invoice patients for dental services to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Polish and buff dentures to ensure a high level of quality and finish.
  • Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts to create accurate and precise dental impressions.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Registration with provincial or territorial authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board to demonstrate expertise and knowledge in dental assisting.
