About the Role

Magnolia Dental is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for dental examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Supply Management: Order dental and office supplies, maintaining a well-stocked inventory to ensure seamless operations.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Prepare dental instruments and filling materials, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
  • Supply Ordering: Maintain and order supplies, ensuring our dental team has everything needed to provide exceptional care.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform reception and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  • Instrument Sterilization: Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients concerning oral hygiene, promoting healthy habits and preventing dental issues.
  • Denture Preparation: Finish metal framework of dentures, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit.
  • Polishing and Buffing: Polish teeth and clinical crowns, applying fluoride and sealant as needed.
  • Impression Trays: Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays, capturing accurate impressions for dental restorations.
  • Scheduling: Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring our patients receive timely and efficient care.
  • Denture Packing: Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Intra-oral Duties: Perform intra-oral duties, including taking and developing X-rays and recording dental procedures.
  • Invoice Management: Invoice patients for dental services, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Denture Finishing: Polish and buff dentures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable finish.
  • Diagnostic Casts: Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts, aiding in the creation of accurate dental restorations.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Registration with provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board.
