Main Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide superior customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Team Development: Assist in the development of the team by supporting training, coaching, and recognition, while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the team, including huddles, product knowledge, corporate policies, and procedures, as well as Health and Safety protocols.
  • Operations: Provide floor support and supervision, including serving customers, merchandising, rotation, breaks, and general department cleanliness.
  • Office Management: Support office management tasks, such as completing inventory and orders, invoices, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with a clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making: Good judgment and decision-making abilities, while communicating with customers and Farm Boy team members.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Adaptability: Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Language: Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.

Work Environment:

  • Service-Oriented: Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shift, lift, carry, or handle heavy objects, and adapt to temperature changes on occasion.
