About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Omex Homes Inc. as a Furniture Craftsman. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality furniture and fixtures for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Production: Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, and bring them to life using your expertise in woodworking.
  • Quality Control: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Finishing Touches: Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, preparing them for delivery to our clients.
  • Supervision and Estimation: Supervise other workers and estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring that we stay within budget and meet our deadlines.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in woodworking or a related field.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a strong understanding of woodworking principles and techniques is essential.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
