POSITION OVERVIEW

The MEARIE Group is looking for a qualified Powerline Technician to join our dedicated team. Key responsibilities include the construction, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of the electrical distribution network. This position requires immediate response to emergency situations and participation in on-call rotations.

  • Conduct live line operations on both overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
  • Install poles and structures for power lines
  • Repair and install cables and associated equipment
  • Work within substations
  • Execute assigned maintenance tasks and restore power during outages
  • Operate motorized vehicles and specialized equipment

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Journeyperson Power Line Technician Certification or equivalent qualifications
  • Certification from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities in Power Line Technology
  • Full compliance with the Ontario Utility Work Protection Code
  • Understanding of Electrical Utility Safety Regulations and safe working practices
  • Proficient in the tools and equipment relevant to the trade
  • Valid Class 'D' driver's license with 'Z' endorsement
  • Capability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
