Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Demolition Worker to join our team at Maritime Demolition & Environmental Services. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently removing rubble and debris from construction sites, loading and unloading materials, and assisting in the demolition of buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, including heavy loads, using specialized equipment.
  • Demolition Assistance: Assist in the demolition of buildings, including the use of heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Clean-up and Salvage: Clean and pile salvaged materials, ensuring they are properly stored and secured.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Training: Possess a valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Forklift Operator Certification, and Provincial/Territorial Asbestos Hazards Certification.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Have experience operating trampers, sledgehammers, jackhammers, reciprocating saws, and other heavy equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be a team player, and demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
