Job Summary:

UPS is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the efficient operation of our package sorting system. As a key member of our Buildings and Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including conveyor belts, motors, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical components, including motors, reducers, drive chains, and conveyor belts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, including control stations, fuses, motor starters, and relays.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment, including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
  • Weld equipment, including handrails, conveyor supports, and package handling equipment.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Valid 433A Millwright or 442A Industrial Electrician Certification of Qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience performing maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to receive and give instruction over radio.

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly indoors (in a warehouse). Occasionally work outdoors.
