Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Northumberland Hills Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including phlebotomy, biochemistry, hematology, bacteriology, and immunohematology.
  • Collect and process blood and other bodily fluids for testing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
Requirements:
  • Current membership in the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • Specialties to include phlebotomy, biochemistry, hematology, bacteriology, and immunohematology.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
