Position Overview:

Gardewine is a prominent transportation organization with a rich legacy that spans several decades. Our operations have expanded significantly in the transportation sector, particularly in North Western Ontario, due to our commitment to excellence. We are currently in search of Heavy-Duty Trailer and Tractor Technicians to enhance our operations.

This role reports directly to the Maintenance Foreman and is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance of our tractor fleet through routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing Perform repairs on electrical systems, interiors, air brake systems, tires, and bodywork as necessary Execute safety inspections Undertake repair or replacement of equipment as required Evaluate equipment to determine if external repairs are needed Identify and report any faults or malfunctions in company equipment Collaborate with fellow maintenance personnel and the terminal to prioritize equipment repairs

Required Qualifications

Red Seal certification or an apprentice at any level, or a willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program High school diploma with a minimum of two years of relevant experience A basic set of hand tools is necessary Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills A robust work ethic, capable of working independently as well as part of a team Extensive knowledge and experience with various tools Familiarity with modern vehicle diagnostic equipment Experience in preventative maintenance, including electrical, interior, air brake, tire, and body maintenance
