Job Summary
As a vital member of our Heavy Duty Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the routine upkeep of equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and durability. Your role will involve problem-solving and delivering outstanding customer service to enhance the overall experience for our guests.
Job Specifications
- Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours per day, including weekends and holidays.
- Required Certification: Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics ticket.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance to uphold the performance and safety of equipment.
- Dismantle components to assess for wear or damage.
- Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate parts as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate vehicle electrical systems.
- Monitor hydraulic systems for leaks and wear, replacing components as necessary.
- Foster open communication with staff and the Maintenance Manager.
- Manage daily work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Document completed work and report on shop activities.
- Perform maintenance and repairs in a cost-effective manner.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget for vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Adhere to environmental policies and practices.
- Exhibit a professional appearance and conduct.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Possession of a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic's ticket is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment such as excavators and loaders.
- Previous experience with Prinot snow cats and snowmobiles is an asset.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Experience in repairing undercarriage and track assemblies.
- Ability to make quick decisions regarding safety and multitask effectively.
- Capability to work outdoors in a mountain environment for extended periods.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Flexibility to perform various functions across departments during peak periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience working with diverse groups and families.
- Excellent stress management and time management skills.
- Participation in cross-department support and snow removal tasks is expected.
