About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at the BC SPCA. As a key member of our shelter team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional animal care and welfare, adhering to the Five Freedoms and our organization's animal health policy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, sanitary, and efficient shelter environment.
  • Support front office staff with telephone reception, counter inquiries, and other communications.
  • Assist with animal admissions, adoptions, and other related duties.
  • Perform general office routines and record keeping.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
  • Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a sound knowledge of animal behavior and health.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and prioritize demands on time.
